Snow White photoshoot

"The camera can photograph thought."  ~Dirk Bogarde

Photography is something that I've come to love and respect, it's more than just taking a snap on a camera like many people think. If you have the passion and interest, the images you create are important and while learning, good quality. I'm taking a photography A level course and you learn so many things you didn't know before, including the history behind photography and where it all began. I have completed projects alone with my classmates that I have been both proud of and disappointed with. You can't be good at everything and this is something everyone needs to learn. I thought every project I did would come out the way I wanted and I was wrong. You make mistakes, just remember to learn from them!

So today I thought I'd share my Snow White project with you lovely people. I'm still learning so these photos are definitely not my best, but I wanted to share something personal today. These photos do not follow the typical Snow White tale and the look is completely different, but I was taking on my own style with them. The model is my friend, isn't she pretty? She was more than happy to pose for this and we spent about an hour and a half in a freezing cold English wood with not hot flask or coats to keep us warm.  My friend is a natural poser and loves her make up, so I left her to it as I told her where she needed to be and to hold still while I got her in focus. As you can see she is brown haired, but it didn't matter (not the typical Snow White pictures) and I began to edit on her skin and facial features to brighten her lips and darken around eyes.

I loved doing this project because it was fun and I really got to do what I wanted. The photos I produced weren't what I expected but I'm still proud. I had a wonderful model and a good location. Here are a few to look at.

Please take note that these are my very own photos and they are for my use alone.
