My Love Lies Bleeding Review

"An author is one of the most beautiful story tellers" - Jerona Moore

When picking up this book for the first time I noticed two things, one, the book looked too short and two, it was definitely about vampires. Now, I like a good vampire novel like any girl in our world now, I love them even but only if the story line is good and I can keep my head in it without getting bored. I was delightedly surprised to find out that this book had both of those qualities and I started to enjoy the book. Although it is short, there are many others, so it didn't really matter as much.

The characters in this book all were really unique and I felt as if I knew their personalities straight away, I loved this quality and it really enabled me to picture them clearer. This book is a really, really good read and if you love vampires, twists in plots and kick-ass action, it's certainly for you. I know it's for me! This series is titled, 'The Drake Chronicles', written by Alexandra Harvey and here's the blurb, 'Solange has always known she is a vampire. And as the only female vampire ever born, not initiated, she is surrounded by danger on all sides - from other vampire tribes who want to take her blood into their lineage, and from the bounty hunters who are set on destroying her and her family. When she is kidnapped, it's up to her elder brother Nickolas and best friend, Lucy, to save her. But can Lucy save herself from Nicholas, who tempts her with every look - what will be her own fate if she surrenders her heart to a vampire?'

Now if that doesn't pull you in then I don't know what will. I love a good love story slotted into a story line and the forbidden love always gets me, two people being completely different in all ways yet somehow fitting. This book had that too. I'd just like to mention Lucy very briefly, she is by far my favourite character mainly for the fact that she's human and unafraid of these vampires and even goes to the length of hitting one of them.

A good read, a good book, a good author. I recommend highly.
